It’s that requisite annual schmooze event where the lines between personal and professional can get awfully blurry. Here are 5 key don’ts for the office holiday fete:

1. Don’t totally let your guard down. Yes, it’s a party, but it’s still a work function.
2. Don’t get drunk! It’s okay to have one or two drinks to “lubricate” the situation—but that’s it! (See number 1!)
3. Don’t hook up with your boss/ your colleague/ your intern. Keep any public displays of affection with your date to a minimum! (Think pecks and pats—no groping.)
4. Don’t talk about how in debt you are from holiday shopping.
5. Don’t take anything from the party (e.g., a doggie bag, a centerpiece, a bottle of wine that “no one will miss”).
