
Debra Shigley is a journalist, speaker, and author of the book The Go-Getter Girl’s Guide: Get What You Want in Work and Life (and Look Great While You’re at It).
She earned her undergraduate degree at Harvard, and her law degree, cum laude, at Georgia State. She appears frequently as a career and lifestyle expert on programs such as The Today Show, CBS Early Show, The View, CNN, and ABC News, and was recognized by the National Diversity Council as one of Georgia’s fifteen Most Powerful and Influential Women. She is a paid contributor to The Dish, a daily hot topics segment on Atlanta’s NBC station, WXIA. Debra has also been quoted by The Wall Street Journal, Washington Post, AJC, Redbook, Cosmopolitan, People StyleWatch, Latina, First for Women, and many more. She began her media career at CNN, worked full-time as an editor for Atlanta magazine while she completed her law degree at night, and then served as an employment law associate for a top firm.
Debra conducts professional development seminars for a range of corporate clients, and coaches individuals on how to realize their goals in work and in life. Her writing has appeared in publications including Psychology Today, Redbook, Allure, Fast Company, Budget Travel, Daily Candy, Go! the Airtran magazine, Neiman Marcus thebook, and Heart & Soul. She lives in Atlanta with her husband and son, and is a member of the Georgia Bar.
